Description

The Sermons.html webpage functions as a Scripture-based sermon index and search tool. A user can enter or select a biblical passage and retrieve a list of related sermons or sermon resources, with columns identifying the passage, a date or reference number, and the source; the page also includes links to KFUO's Daily Chapel material as well as a variety of other sources. Its purpose, therefore, is to help pastors, teachers, and other readers locate preaching resources connected to particular texts of Scripture for study, devotion, sermon preparation, or hearing how a passage has been proclaimed in a Lutheran setting.

Functionality

Entering a Bible passage into the text field (or passing a passage via the URL) locates and displays all the sermons from the sources at the top whose sermon text overlaps the specified Bible passage(s). Selecting from the Source column will then display the webpage for the sermon for that row.

Checking the first column for one or more sermons and then clicking the Analyze button allows an analysis to be performed on the selected sermon(s)

URL extensions

"p=" - specifies the Bible passage for locating sermons whose sermon text overlaps the specified Bible passage

KFUO Radio's Daily Chapel is a weekday broadcast of chapel services from the LCMS International Center, offering listeners Scripture readings, hymns, prayer, and a sermon centered on the appointed biblical text. Airing Monday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. Central Time, the program brings the church's daily proclamation of Christ to listeners at home, in congregations, and in other settings; individual sermons are also available through KFUO's archives and podcast platforms. The service information - including the day's lectionary, hymn, and preacher - is published in KFUO's Daily Chapel schedule, and the program is supported by LCMS International Mission and LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces.

KFUO Radio's Morning Prayer Sermonette is a brief daily devotional program in which a guest Lutheran pastor preaches a short message on the New Testament reading appointed in the Daily Lectionary. Designed to accompany KFUO's Morning Prayer and repeated with Evening Prayer, it helps listeners begin or close the day in God's Word by hearing the day's Scripture text explained and applied in a Christ-centered pastoral meditation. The program airs daily from 7:00 to 7:15 a.m. and is also heard Monday through Saturday from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.; individual sermonettes are available through KFUO's online archive and podcast feed.

The Lutheran Hour is Lutheran Hour Ministries' weekly, Christ-centered sermon broadcast, in which Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler and occasional guest speakers proclaim the Gospel through Scripture readings that tell the story of the Savior. First aired on October 2, 1930, it is described by Lutheran Hour Ministries as the world's oldest continually broadcast Christ-centered radio program, and it continues to reach listeners through radio, streaming, podcasts, the LHM app, text and audio sermon archives, and special programming for the American Forces Network. Its purpose is evangelistic and pastoral: to bring the good news of Christ crucified, salvation, restoration, and reconciliation with God to people wherever they are, while encouraging them toward connection with Christ's Church.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas, is a Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod congregation that has gathered since 1891 around "the purely preached Gospel and rightly administered sacraments." Located near the University of Texas at Austin, the congregation's stated mission is to spread and model the Good News of Jesus Christ among its members, the local community, and the world. Its ministry centers on traditional Divine Services on Sundays, along with Bible study, Sunday Bible class, weekday study opportunities, and Wednesday Evening Prayer, seeking to nourish members in Christ's Word and Sacraments and to serve its Austin neighbors with Lutheran confession and care.

Esgetology is the personal theological website of the Rev. Christopher S. Esget, senior pastor of Immanuel Evangelical - Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Virginia, where he has served since 2001. The site gathers his sermons, theological reflections, quotations, book and music recommendations, and other writings, presenting them from a confessional, evangelical, and liturgical Lutheran perspective within the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Its purpose is to make Pastor Esget's preaching and theological observations available for study, reflection, and encouragement, with particular attention to the Church's catholic heritage, the Lutheran Confessions, pastoral ministry, worship, and the proclamation of Christ.

The Gottesdienst Crowd is a podcast of Gottesdienst: The Journal of Evangelical Lutheran Liturgy that discusses Lutheran theology, worship, preaching, pastoral practice, Scripture, and the Lutheran Confessions from a strongly confessional and liturgical perspective. Hosted principally by Fr. Jason Braaten and featuring pastors and other guests, it seeks, in its own memorable wording, to foster "confessional integrity, liturgical preservation, and preaching that doesn't stink." Episodes range from discussion of the Lutheran Service Book and the historic lectionary to doctrinal questions, church practices, cultural concerns, and the work of parish ministry, aiming to recover and apply the Church's inherited theological and liturgical treasures for contemporary Lutheran life.

The Worship Anew website is the online home of a Lutheran media ministry devoted to helping aging adults live a full and abundant life in Jesus Christ. Its central offering is a weekly, 30-minute worship service featuring hymns, Scripture readings, prayers, and a sermon, available through television, livestreaming, audio, podcasts, DVDs, downloads, and an on-demand archive; its services are also closed-captioned for those with hearing impairments. Beyond worship broadcasts, the site supplies daily Hope-Full Living devotions, the Broadcaster magazine, pastoral and grief-care materials, and practical care packages for older adults and caregivers, seeking to provide spiritual encouragement as well as support for mental and physical well-being.

LCMSSermons is an unofficial online repository of sermon manuscripts and preaching resources associated with pastors and congregations of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Its purpose is to provide examples of Christ-centered, Law-and-Gospel preaching on appointed lectionary texts and other biblical passages, giving pastors, seminarians, teachers, and lay readers material for sermon study and devotional reflection. Unlike the LCMS Document Library or LCMS Worship resources, which are official Synod platforms offering vetted worship-planning, lectionary, Bible-study, and congregational materials, LCMSSermons should be understood as a supplementary resource rather than an authoritative voice of the Synod. Individual sermons vary according to their authors, contexts, and theological emphases, so they are best used as aids for engaging the biblical text - not as material to reproduce uncritically. For LCMS use, every sermon should be evaluated in light of Holy Scripture, the Lutheran Confessions, the church year's propers, and the pastoral responsibility to preach repentance, forgiveness, Christ crucified, and the gifts of Word and Sacrament.

The Lutheran Hub "Bible Studies" webpage is a searchable online index that helps users locate Bible-study and devotional audio resources by entering a biblical passage and viewing matching entries organized by passage, date or episode number, and source. Its search results prominently include KFUO Radio's Daily Chapel broadcasts and associated Scripture readings, enabling pastors, teachers, and laypeople to find Christ-centered Lutheran preaching, prayers, and reflections connected to particular texts of Scripture. From an LCMS perspective, such a tool can be useful for personal devotion, Bible-class preparation, and continued meditation on God's Word, especially when its linked materials faithfully distinguish Law and Gospel and remain consistent with the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions. Because LutheranHub.com is not an official LCMS website or agency, its individual links and resources should be evaluated carefully rather than treated as official Synodical teaching; Scripture itself remains the Church’s sole norm and authority for doctrine.

The DevotionsAll.html webpage at LutheranHub serves as a Scripture-indexed directory for Lutheran devotional resources. Users can enter a Bible passage and receive a list of devotions associated with that text, organized by the passage, date or identifying number, and source; the page also directs readers to KFUO Daily Chapel episodes. Its purpose is to help individuals, families, teachers, and church workers find devotion material for a particular portion of God's Word, supporting personal prayer, daily meditation, Bible study, and preparation for teaching or pastoral care.

KFUO Radio's website is the online home of the official broadcast ministry and radio voice of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, offering Christ-centered programming intended to "fill [the] world with the Word of Christ for you." Rooted in the LCMS's confession of Jesus Christ crucified and risen for the salvation of sinners, the site provides live and on-demand access to KFUO's broadcasts, podcasts, worship services, daily chapel, prayer offices, Bible studies, theological teaching, sacred music, and practical programs for Christian life and vocation. Listeners can hear programming locally on AM 850 and affiliated FM signals in the St. Louis area, while the website and app extend the station's resources worldwide through continuous online streaming. As a listener-supported LCMS ministry, KFUO seeks to serve congregations and individual Christians by proclaiming the Gospel clearly, strengthening faith through Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions, and making Lutheran worship, teaching, and music widely accessible.

LCMS.org is the official website of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, serving as the Synod's principal online source for its confession, mission, ministries, news, governance, and resources. It explains that the LCMS receives the Holy Scriptures as the inspired Word of God and subscribes to the Lutheran Confessions as a correct exposition of Scripture, while proclaiming its mission "vigorously to make known the love of Christ by word and deed within our churches, communities and the world." The site provides doctrinal statements and frequently asked questions; information on congregations, districts, seminaries, leadership, and Synod-wide ministries; news and convention materials; worship, education, mercy, mission, family, and church-worker resources; and tools that assist pastors, congregations, schools, and individual Lutherans in their shared life and service. In short, LCMS.org functions as the Synod's official public gateway for confessing Christ, communicating its teachings and work, and equipping its members to make disciples for life.

Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) is a global Christian outreach ministry associated with The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod through the International Lutheran Laymen's League, which serves as LHM's governing body and as the LCMS's official men's auxiliary. Its website presents the ministry's central mission as "Bringing Christ to the Nations - and the Nations to the Church," emphasizing the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through broadcast and digital media, devotional resources, witness-training materials, research, and local ministry partnerships. The site features The Lutheran Hour - the longstanding Christ-centered radio program - as well as daily devotions, podcasts, Bible-based learning opportunities, resources for personal evangelism, and international ministry reports. From an LCMS perspective, LHM serves as a partner in the Church's mission of making known Christ's saving love by Word and deed, seeking not only to introduce people to the Gospel but also to connect those who respond with Christian congregations and ongoing discipleship.

The Concordia Publishing House (CPH) website is the online storefront and resource center of the official publishing arm of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Founded in 1869 to supply the young Synod's congregations, schools, and homes with doctrinally sound Lutheran materials, CPH continues to develop, publish, market, and distribute resources that are faithful to Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions. Its website offers Bibles, hymnals, catechetical materials, theological books and commentaries, Bible studies, devotions, children's resources, church-music materials, Sunday School and school curricula, periodicals, digital tools, podcasts, and congregational software. In harmony with the LCMS's mission, CPH exists to strengthen member congregations in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to equip pastors, teachers, families, and laypeople for lives of faith and service, and to extend faithful Lutheran teaching to people throughout the world—all to the glory of God.

YouTube is a public online video-sharing platform rather than an LCMS ministry or doctrinal authority; however, from an LCMS perspective, it can be used as a valuable means of communicating the Gospel and extending Christian teaching beyond the walls of a congregation. The LCMS maintains official YouTube channels through which it shares videos on Scripture, Lutheran doctrine, worship, missions, mercy work, church-worker formation, convention life, and congregational resources, allowing pastors, teachers, members, and seekers to access Christ-centered material in a widely available format. Because the platform hosts content from countless individuals and organizations with differing or contradictory beliefs, Lutherans should exercise discernment, testing what they hear by the Scriptures and measuring theological claims against the Lutheran Confessions. Used responsibly, YouTube can support the LCMS mission of making known the love of Christ by Word and deed, while never replacing the preached Word, the Sacraments, the Divine Service, or the pastoral care found in a local congregation.

The Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW) website presents the seminary as an official institution of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod dedicated to forming servants of Jesus Christ "who teach the faithful, reach the lost, and care for all." It highlights CTSFW's distinctly Lutheran identity: its commitment to the Holy Scriptures as God's inspired Word, the Lutheran Confessions as a faithful exposition of that Word, and the Church's historic liturgical and sacramental life. The site serves prospective students, pastors, deaconesses, congregations, and laity by providing information on pastoral and deaconess formation, admissions, chapel worship, Call Day, campus life, academic programs, news, and theological resources. In keeping with LCMS doctrine and mission, CTSFW emphasizes the formation of pastors to preach Christ, baptize, absolve, and administer the Lord's Supper, and of deaconesses and other church workers to extend Christ's care and mercy in the Church and world.

Steadfast Lutherans is an independent, confessional Lutheran nonprofit and media-resource website that seeks to strengthen pastors and laity in the historic Lutheran faith through articles, podcasts, devotions, printable congregational materials, and catechetical resources. Emerging from the mid-2000s "Brothers of John the Steadfast" movement, it was formed to rally lay support for sound Lutheran teaching and for confessional media such as Issues, Etc.; it later broadened into resources for the wider church, including women's work through the "Sisters of Katie Luther." From an LCMS perspective, its stated emphasis on Scripture, the Lutheran Confessions, Christian catechesis, and the defense of the apostolic faith places it broadly within the confessional Lutheran orbit; however, it is not an official agency, publication, or governing voice of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, whose doctrine is formally summarized in its own statement of beliefs and confessional subscription.

The Lutheran Witness website is the digital home of the official magazine of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, providing articles, commentary, issue archives, subscription information, and related media designed to help Lutherans interpret contemporary life through the lens of Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions. Continuing a publishing tradition associated with C.F.W. Walther's Der Lutheraner and the magazine's own founding in 1882, the site addresses faith, worship, doctrine, family, culture, mercy, mission, and the Church's life together, consistently directing readers to Christ crucified for the sins of the world. Published in print 11 times each year by Concordia Publishing House and supplemented by regular online content from pastors, theologians, and lay writers, The Lutheran Witness serves the LCMS by cultivating informed, faithful Lutheran thinking and speaking amid the questions and challenges of contemporary society.

The Christian Cyclopedia website is the LCMS-hosted online edition of a historic Christian reference work, originally published by Concordia Publishing House and edited by Erwin L. Lueker. It offers searchable, concise articles on biblical and theological terms, Lutheran doctrine, church history, notable persons, institutions, movements, and events, serving as a practical first-reference resource for pastors, students, teachers, and laypeople. Its entries are generally written from a confessional Lutheran perspective and can be particularly useful for preliminary study, catechesis, Bible-class preparation, and sermon research; however, it remains a secondary resource and should be read under the authority of Holy Scripture and in conversation with the Lutheran Confessions.

Wolfmueller.co is the personal theological teaching and resource website of the Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller, an LCMS pastor serving St. Paul Lutheran Church and Jesus Lutheran Church of the Deaf in Austin, Texas. The site gathers his sermons, articles, videos, podcasts, books, downloadable studies, devotionals, and courses, all intended to help readers "recover the joy of theology" by encountering the clear comfort of Christ and His Gospel. From a Lutheran perspective, its materials commonly focus on the Scriptures, the person and work of Jesus Christ, the distinction between Law and Gospel, the Lutheran Confessions, the Divine Service, Christian vocation, apologetics, and pastoral care. Although wolfmueller.co is not an official LCMS website or agency, it functions as a confessional Lutheran teaching ministry connected to the work of an LCMS pastor and is meant to serve the wider Church through accessible, Christ-centered theological instruction and resources.

The purpose of the Bible Outline page at Lutheran Hub is to provide a structured, navigable overview of the entire Bible so users can quickly locate a book, chapter range, or major section of Scripture and access related study material. It organizes the Old and New Testaments by their principal narratives, themes, and divisions - for example, Genesis is arranged around the primeval history, the patriarchs, and later episodes - while supplying links or access points for additional information connected to specific passages. In short, it functions as a Bible-study index and reference guide, helping readers see both where a text belongs in Scripture's larger story and where to find resources for studying it.
