Our Mission: Making Disciples

The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ so that all people may know Him as their Savior and grow in faith toward God and in fervent love toward one another. This flows directly from Christ's Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

Our Vision: Vigorously Making Known the Love of Christ

We envision the LCMS as a vigorously mission-focused church body that plants, sustains, and partners with congregations to reach lost and wandering people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to equip members for lives of Christian witness and mercy work, both locally and globally.

Our Foundation

Everything we do rests on Scripture alone, grace alone, faith alone, and Christ alone. We believe Acts 1:8 guides our work: "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Our Goal

To see every person hear the Gospel, receive God's grace through Word and Sacrament, and live as faithful disciples serving their neighbors in love.

The LCMS exists not for itself, but to serve Christ's mission of salvation for all people.
