The Bible Word/Name Match is similar to the popular Wordle game with several similarities and several key differences. Like Wordle, the words/names are five letters long and the player has six chances to figure out the word/name. Letters guesses by the player that are in the proper position in the five-letter word are shown with a green backgroud. Letters that are in the word but in the wrong position are shown with a yellow background. This is the same as in the Wordle game.

However, unlike Wordle, the guesses made by a user don't have to be words. They can be random letters as shown in the screenshot below.

Unlike Wordle, the five letter puzzle answer might be a name rather than a word. For example, the puzzle answer might be "JESUS".

If the player wants to make the puzzle a little harder, he can choose to limit himself to only using five-letter words and five-letter names. However, this is purely enforced by the user as the puzzle software allows for any arbitrary letter selection.

The player may also choose to use the advanced Wordle rules that require all entries to reuse the green letters from previous entries in the same position in subsequent entries. Again, enforcement of this rule is left to the player as the software allows for completely arbitrary letter entry.
