When? Help
The "When?" Bible game tests the user's historical knowledge of the Bible and the church age.
This game begins with the selection of one or more time periods. These time periods are Old Testament, Inter-Testamental (time between the Old and New Testaments), New Testament, Pre-Reformation (before Martin Luther) and Reformation to current. The following screenshot shows the selection of all the time periods.
Once one or more of the time periods have been selected, the game is begun by ckicking the "New game" button. For this game, question 235 is asked wanting to know when the Supreme Court ruled that federal discrimination laws do not apply to religious organizations.
As a guess, the time period 1950 to 2000 (AD) was chosen and the "Submit answer" button clicked. However, the right answer for this question was 2012 AD so the answer given was wrong (outside the guessed range) and no points were awarded.
The intent of the game is to get as many questions right (out of ten total questions) and to score the most points for the questions that are correctly answered. Points are awarded only for correct answers. The points awarded are 100 minus the selected range. Had the previous answer been correct, then 50 points (100 - 50 year range) would have been awarded. Therefore, small year ranges can yield higher points and a better score.
Since the question was answered incorrectly, the summary indicates that one question was asked, zero correct answers were given and the total points earned are zero. The next question is then asked automatically.
The last column in the questions asked table contains an image that, when clicked, will bring up the source for the specific question (this is the learning part of thie game). For example, for the question about federal discrimination laws, clicking this image brings up the Wikipedia article on this topic.
Note that the dates for the "correct" answer are pulled from different sources and are not necessarily consistent across different questions, particularly the further back in time the answer. Therefore, small year ranges for Old Testament events, although yielding higher point totals, should probably be avoided simply because different sources will yield different answers for the same question.
